Apartment, Manilva.

Our clients on this project live abroad, which meant they needed an interior designer in Manilva who could be their eyes and hands on the ground. As with many of our international clients, that meant they could get on with life at home while we handled everything here, from sourcing to site visits, keeping them updated every step of the way without them needing to fly out constantly.

They wanted a proper Mediterranean holiday escape, somewhere that felt bright and easy the moment you walked through the door. But it also needed to work harder than your typical two person retreat. Family and friends would often join them, sometimes with young children in tow, so the apartment had to comfortably sleep up to eight guests without ever feeling like a squeeze.

Fitting eight people into a three bedroom apartment is no small feat, especially when the whole point is for the space to feel calm and uncluttered rather than packed with beds. Getting the layout right, and choosing furniture that could flex between everyday holiday living and full house occupancy, was the real puzzle to solve.

Rather than cramming in more beds, we designed around clever, considered furniture. Custom double bunk beds gave the third bedroom real flexibility for children or extra guests, while a Murphy bed tucked into the second bedroom meant the space could switch from a multi use play area by day to an extra bedroom by night, without anyone feeling like they'd landed in a converted storage room.

With young children often part of the mix, low maintenance mattered just as much as style. We chose furniture and finishes that could handle spills, scuffs, and general holiday chaos, so our clients could actually switch off rather than worry about keeping everything pristine.

The finished apartment feels like a proper Mediterranean escape, relaxed, bright, and ready for whoever turns up, whether that's just the two of them for a quiet week or the whole family for the summer.
