Danielle Carnegie is the founder and designer behind Studio Alba. She trained in Interior Design at the University of Dundee before moving to the Costa del Sol, where she spent several years working with established interior design studios in the region before setting up Studio Alba.

Over a decade on the Costa del Sol has given her a thorough understanding of the local market, the suppliers and craftspeople worth working with, and the particular qualities of light and space that make this part of Spain so special to design for.

She grew up in Scotland, which is where her appreciation for quality materials and proper craftsmanship started, and that practical, considered approach is at the heart of how she works.

As an expat herself, Danielle understands what it takes to make somewhere new feel like home. A good number of Studio Alba's clients are based abroad, and managing a project clearly and closely when you can't be on site for every step is a big part of how the studio works.

Every project starts from how you actually live, not a fixed style carried from one job to the next. Quality finishes, careful choices, and a result that still feels right years later, that's the constant, whatever the brief.
