Studio Alba

(noun)

Based in Marbella, Studio Alba is a boutique Interior Design studio working on residential and commercial projects along the coast of southern Spain. The name "Alba" has a twofold significance. Derived from the Gaelic word for Scotland, it pays homage to Danielle's roots and the rich design history of the Scottish lands. At the same time, "Alba" carries the Spanish meaning of "dawn", symbolising new beginnings and the fresh, innovative approach Studio Alba strives to bring to every project.

Danielle Carnegie

founder + interior designer

Danielle is the founder and designer behind Studio Alba. Growing up in Central Scotland surrounded by rolling hills and timeless architecture taught her to love honest materials and craftsmanship that stands the test of time. Then she fell in love with Andalusia, where the transformative light taught her how sunshine can bring warmth and joy to everyday living, making colours come alive in ways she never experienced back home.

With a bachelor's degree in Interior Design from The University of Dundee and extensive experience in exhibition, commercial, and residential design, Danielle has crafted stunning spaces for international clients. Through Studio Alba, she brings together the best of both worlds - the solid, grounded beauty of Scotland and all the warmth and light that Andalusia has taught her.

At Studio Alba, the ethos is simple - creating spaces that reflect the essence of the people who inhabit them. With a strong empathetic approach and one-on-one individual attention, Danielle's work is characterised by innovative design solutions and deep understanding of her clients' needs. Her projects blend functionality with aesthetic beauty, creating spaces that feel both strong and welcoming, rooted in Scottish craftsmanship but brightened by the golden light and joyful spirit of southern Spain.
