Quilla Restaurant, Port of Sotogrande.
The picturesque port of Sotogrande provided the perfect waterfront location for the seafood restaurant Quilla, a commercial interior design project that demonstrates how to create impactful dining spaces on tight timelines and budgets. The project was swift and budget-conscious, with the owners keen to open as soon as possible for the busy Costa del Sol summer season.
With the brand identity already established, the interior design worked alongside this visual identity to bring the concept to life through strategic space planning and material selection. The design process involved creating a cohesive experience that flowed from the exterior terrace to the interior dining areas, maximising the stunning marina views while ensuring efficient service flow.
Custom furnishing solutions, including bespoke banquette seating and locally-sourced materials, created a distinctive atmosphere without exceeding budget constraints. The colour palette and textures were carefully chosen to complement both the existing brand and the Mediterranean coastal setting. Collaboration with local artisans, including custom wall murals, added unique character while supporting the Andalusian creative community.
The result was a Mediterranean, modern and vibrant dining experience that showcased how thoughtful design can enhance a restaurant's atmosphere and customer experience. This project demonstrates how effective restaurant design consultation can transform commercial spaces quickly and cost-effectively, creating distinctive dining destinations even within challenging timelines and budgets.
This approach to hospitality design applies across the region - whether it's a waterfront restaurant in Sotogrande, a boutique hotel in Marbella, or commercial projects throughout Andalusia and the Costa del Sol.
